Another popular request has just been added to Workflows. If you are using a single choice or multi choice element within your Workflow there is now an option (via Question Settings in the Workflow builder) to enable an "other" option which allows your user to select "other" and type free text as their response to that question.
And of course if you want to change the term "other" you can do that via the language file.
